Organization Profile
Over View
Alwosool Center for Development Action (Alwosool) is an autonomous and non-profit organization that is independent of any government, political affiliation, economic interest or religion groups. It was registered in 2016 as a non-profit organization pursuant to the Palestinian law under the name of (Alwosool Center for Justice and Human Rights) by the Ministry of National Economic in Ramallah- Palestine.
In 2022, the Center goes under institutional re-engineering in which the name has been changed to: (Alwossol Center for Development Action), the mandate, and the philosophy has been changed accordingly.
The main functional theme is to promote development within its international context and it stands to maintain economic empowerment for community and defend the rights of individuals to live in peace and prosperity.

To Promote Youth Development and Peacebuilding in Palestine
We envision youth are inspired and equipped to realize the theme of development, and to create a culture of tolerance, coexistence and peace. Youth (female and male), will take an active role towards realizing and consolidate a cultivating approach of development and peacebuilding.
We believe the way to realize this vision is to engage the full range of our functions to enhance an inclusive society in which youth will exercise their basic rights attaining peacebuilding; equal dignity and respect; social justice and prosperity to promote a peaceful and democratic society.Our Mission

Governance
Alwosool Center its primary governing body, is composed of the followings:
General AssemblyGeneral Assembly consists of fourteen members, mainly high-profile experts the general assembly shall carry out, in particular, the general policy for achieving the objectives of the center, review and ratifying the Center by laws and regular financial and administrative reports. It’s the supreme monitor and evaluation entity of the Center.
Board of Directors
Board of Directors consists of fivemembers, usually they represent the different multisectoral expertise. Board of Directors terms is four years. Board of Directors composed of professionals with multiple skills that assure the proper functioning and administration of the center. The Board of Directors shall carryout, in particular, ratifying the strategic plan, the admission of new projects, suggest and upgrading the by laws and operation manual, recruit staff, and ratify the auditor’s report for each fiscal year.
Executive Director
The daily management of the center is tasked to a executive director with technical staff of the Secretariat.

Our Programs
Pursuant to its mandate, Alwosool center has structured its thematic functions under four main programs as follows:
Youth Community Engagement Program (YCEP)
"As corollaries to the right of every individual to life and to full participation in society, the Declaration incorporated in the list of human rights the right to work and a certain number of economic, social, and cultural rights." - René Cassin -
Partners to Build a Better Palestinian Community Togather
This program consists of many projects which focuses upon the engagement of youth (male and female) in different types of community’s engagement. The program aims to enhance youth will take part in the interventions to transform their attitudes and behavior to be more active and key element in civic participation.
The program will implement various projects to engage youth in “good governance” theme. Thus, the program will be a key for achieving community development that is equitable where youth have the ability to influence decisions making process that affect their lives and community in general.
The program will be essential path for building the local society where youth enjoyand participate to achieve social justice and human rights. The program will support projects that link the youth in activities fall within the scope of “Triple Nexus” approach.
The ultimate object of this program that youth will be the engine in community engagement in the three main aspects; youth will be part of humanitarian response initiatives and interventions; youth will be part of enhancing community development within its general social context, and youth will work as peacebuilders.
Youth Peacebuilding Leadership Program (YPSLP)

Built for Better Change and Partnering for Peacebuilding Leaders
Youth peacebuilding and leadership program aims to provide all the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare youth to be peacebuilders leaders. The program intends to direct the ultimate energy and enthusiasm of youth for better change, mainly to be peacebuilding leaders. Peacebuilding should be understood within its broad meaning, whereas the peacebuilding and conflict transformation are the core for the program’s projects and to equip the youth to be leaders in their society.
Alwosool center believe that without peace there will be no community development. Thus, the program will focus to establish a tailormade projects that intended to prepare the youth to be leaders in their community.
By using the “theory of change” the program aims to transform youth attitudes towards addressing the root causes of conflict. Youth will be trained and prepared to adopt many skills like; conflict transformation mechanisms, promote debate and dialogue as peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms, countering extremism and violence, enhance judicial reform and democracy with integrate traditional practices. The ultimate purpose is to have new generation with different school of thought by maintain ways to peacefully settle tensions and disputes.
Youth and Global Issues Challenges Program (YGIP)

Toward Global Palestinian Youth
Global issues challenges program was designed to increasethe awareness of youth with the global issues and to discuss their role in this global matter. The program focuses locally on Palestine sustainable development but prepare and link the youth to global issues challenges agenda and international efforts. The program will enable the youth to adopt the principle “think global, act local”,
The program will help youth to explore the global issues into two main folds: the first, the program will address the global issues challenges as determined by the UN agencies with reference to the globally relevant, knowledge-based and resource and its implications at Palestinian domestic level.
Second, the program aims to establish the phenomena of “Today Global Palestinian Youth”, whereas youth are connected torecognize current challenges and urgent needs, most notably in relation to reconstruction, water and energy, housing, environmental degradation and socioeconomic stagnation especially in Gaza due to ongoing war.
The program, in addition to global issues challenges, it assumesthat the multilayered system of restrictions hindering development in Palestine, and in Gaza in particular. The program assumes youth will works toward sustained
progress towards greater openness and connectivity, including strategic links between Palestinian youth with their peers at the international level. The ultimate goal of the program is to prepare the youth as the rights holders as well as the duty bearers towards the global issue’s challenges.Youth and Cultural Diversity Program (ICEP)

White Paper on Intercultural DialogueTowards Promoting Cultural Diversity Tolerance Among Palesinian Youth
Whereas cultural diversity is always there within a given society as well as between different societies, then, Alwosool center share the notion that “intercultural dialogue should be understood as a process that comprises an open and respectful exchange of views between individuals and groups with different ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds and heritage, on the basis of mutual understanding and respect. It requires the freedom and ability to express oneself, as well as the willingness and capacity to listen to the views of others.
This program will enhance the Palestinian youth to be part of intercultural dialogue to contributes to political, social, cultural and economic integration within the Palestinian society, as well as to promote tolerance and respect for the other.
Alwosool center will set this program to implement projects that enhance dispute settlements procedure as mediation and reconciliation: through critical and constructive engagement across cultural fault-lines.Further, the program will safeguard the basic human rightsincluding; freedom of choice, freedom of expression, equality, tolerance and mutual respect for human dignity. It also will advocate the democratic culture – including open-mindedness, willingness to engage in dialogue and allow others to express their point, a capacity to resolve conflicts by peaceful means and a recognition of the well-founded arguments of others. The ultimate objective of the program is to avoid mutualsuspicion, tension and anxiety. In addition to avoid the creation of a climate conducive to the emergence of extremism.
